Demok Community Eco-Tours is a program promoting the unity of conservation, communities, and sustainability travel by providing opportunities to travelers to experience what Nature has to offer from the small island of Palau, a concept shared with Palau by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation of Japan, and bringing back what today’s island people have forgotten.
The Sasakawa Peace Foundation started a project for balancing economic benefit and conservation of the environment (nature) and culture by introducing an effective management method, called Community Based Eco-Tourism, working with States on the big island of Babeldaob. Such concept is in harmony with the islanders’ belief that the environment (nature) and culture are one and the same.
Natural beliefs of the ancestral people of the island of Palau, for the most part, considered the “Environment and Culture” as one and the same with the understanding that one can’t exist without the other. To protect and preserve the island’s natural Environment reflects on the societal Culture of the people… it identifies with the island people who believed in the power of the skies, water, and the land that respects and relates to the world that surrounded the Palauan people.
Efforts of our Eco-Tour program is to share with friends and visitors. as well as re-learning what we have forgotten. by discovering the long-lost treasures our ancestors bequeathed to us. At the same time, we prioritize caution and therefore not overwhelming the fragile natural eco-system, and as such, Demok Community Eco-Tours will accept, at the most, about 10-15 visitors a week. However, please do not be discourage as reservations are booked, Demok Community Eco-Tours will try and do their very best to accommodate each and every visitor.
Fees for the package tours below reflects the number of visitors accordingly. Please refer all questions regarding the Tour Packages to Demok Community Eco-Tours through e-mail communication (demokcommunityecotours@gmail.com) or by calling the mobile phones as listed.

If time permits or a majority of the group feeling excited with the Sun still above the horizon, bonus tour [s] to Choll Village to the north of Ngaraard State or the village of Ngkeklau to the south of the State can be visited before heading back to the hotel).
Note: The weather can be a friend or an enemy, depending on one's perspective, and so bringing along waterproof jacket in case of rainy days would be great readiness in preparation for the unexpected. And since the tour will mostly take place in the jungle, it wouldn't hurt to be prepared by putting-on proper shoes and wearing long-legged pants as it would be ideal for the trek through the dense forest that can be unfriendly at times.
Visitors are picked up at the hotel (regardless of whether all are staying at the same hotel or different hotels) in the morning at 7:45am - 8:00am to commence the journey to the four tour sites. Drinks (water/coconut and local snacks will be provided during the first and second site visits). After the third site visit, lunch will be served in the afternoon at Kuabs State Park and visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the breeze from the eastern sea and allow your feet to relax on the beach. After lunch, you will visit the fourth site and after that, you are taken to one of the highest peaks of Ngaraard State at Olsebokelkedam Hill for a fantastic view to the east and west coasts before journey back to the hotel. After dropping customers at the hotel, the driver will pick-up and deliver one 16" pizza (free of charge) to the counter for hotel personnel to bring it up to the room!

Kuabs Park also provide facilities with restrooms and showers for both men and women for convenience to freshen-up so bringing a change of clothes can be a life-saving commodity.
Small reminder... it takes about an hour from hotel in Koror State to the first site visit in Ngaraard State so powder one's nose before departure as the next stop with facilities will be available in about three hours' time!
